Silvestri beat Paddock and Dake .....Only way NY wrestlers can win is when a NY guy ref's a match ...ala Nickerson-vs Donohue in NCAA or Dake the Duck here

We all know NJ is a better overall wrestling state then most of the country at this point. That can change at any given time or year. The east coast in general produces more great wrestlers then the rest of the country combined regadless if its NY NJ or PA. Live with it.

One of those upsets? hmmm i seem to recall Silvestri beating Paddock at the Super 32... and then he beat him again at Junior Nationals. Hes 2-0 against Paddock.

this is just one of those upsets that happen, look at their track records and youll see paddock is the superior wrestler, it just wasnt his match, maybe next time

how bout you people look at the two refs tht are in finals reffing dake and silvestri and notice tht the one ref called time before the ref tht gave two.silvestri did excellent and if he took his ashemia puff at tht fourteen second mark silvestri would of won case close

NY guys giving Paddock a pass because he wasn't 100%. But Silvestri looked 100% in finals against Dake? Excuses, excuses...Paddock ranked 4th Nationally and Dake 11th. No NJ 130's ranked Nationally. Dake gets 3-2 decision in final second over Silvestri, who was probably at 70%, maybe? I'll take Silvestri in any rematch, any time. BTW, I understand that one ref awarded the final second takedown, and one didn't because time had expired. Doesn't exactly sound like a convincing victory against someone who is under the weather, for someone who is so highly ranked.

people saying nj>ny cmon 1 match and paddock didnt look like he was really trying to win or die look at the overal score not one match gratz on him winning over a good wrestling like paddock to bad he looses next round to our state RUNNER UP

It is amazing the jealousy that is shown in some of these comments. The NJ kid did a great job, but from seeing Paddock wrestle in the past, it was obvious that he wasn't 100%. When he is he usually dominates kids, just look at the NY state finals match between him and Dake, he beats up on Dake 9-4. It just goes to show you that anything can happen at national tournaments.

Paddock looked a little hurt after the initial scramble on this vid. No excuse for getting turned in a half but Paddock looked banged up for sure. Paddock has had a few matches in his career where he disappears and looks average. The NJ kid hit the button and took it to Paddock doing a nice job of physically dominating him. Ruling Paddock out would be a mistake though.

gbnfan, paddock is very good look at his state final matches on youtube. he teched the kid last year and beat the kid silvestri has in the finals 9-4 this year. and look at his sophomore national final last year, he tore apart michael garofalo. hes very good, kodie just wrestled smart and VERY tough on top. great win.
