Still one of the best interviews ever done on Flo. Wrestling is such a great sport. Why? Because it's a meritocracy. You have to beat the other guy to get the spot. That's sure not the way it is in football or basketball or baseball, where, if you are the coach's kid, you get the spot, no matter how good your competition is. But in wrestling, hey, if you can't beat the best at your weight, you don't get the spot, I don't care who you are. And so here's Mark Perry, competitive as hell, but he knows he can't beat the guys in his uncle's room in order to get that spot. So what does he do? He goes to IOWA, the archenemy. And he beats the guy who stopped him from going to OSU. Unreal. You've got to love that. |
