Our son Michael has recently started wrestling at shore thing and loves it. He si turning 7 and a half pint but is learning and getting better thanks to the great coaching! He hopes to be a state champ someday....he really admires everyone.
I just wanted to let you (Vinnie) know that im thankful for you letting me workout at the club. I'll see you soon though, i've been working alot so its been hard trying to make it out there.
Vinny and Family, Thank you does not begin to decribe the gratitude we feel for your constant presence in Joseph and Giovanni's wrestling career and in their lives. You go beyond every single day for these boys at the expense of your family. Every victory is because of you! Again Thanks The Ghione Family!!

Now, why is the Shore so good??? Well, as former Madison Central/Old Bridge Coach Ken Scott used to ask “Why do fish swim so well? Answer … “Because they do it all the time!” (a quote I believe he ‘borrowed’ from former Cedar Ridge/Woodbridge head coach and friend Gerry Bandola) … hence the answer!
Credit has to go all the way back to the late great Miles Hahn. Miles started “Team Hammer” back in the 80’s (?) as a place wrestlers can go for additional workout and instruction. This “club idea” caught on like “a wildfire in the pinelands” and headed north where Ernie Monaco started “The Edge”. In the 90’s many shore are wrestlers travelled up the parkway to get personal training at The Edge. The “club idea” continued to grow and perhaps the first shore explosion happenned when former Brick Memorial standout Vinnie Santiello started “Shore Thing”. Vinnie’s club gave the shore area wrestlers a viable place to workout and learn, without having to travel an hour each way, 2-3 times a week. I know other clubs (like Mike Malinconico’s Club Rhino and others) have sprouted up in the shore areas, but Mile’s and eventually Vinnie deserved a lot of credit for being on the forefront.
In the last two years, Shore Thing has had 12 guys wrestle in the All Star match with 9 of them recording victories. Congratulations to this year's participants: Jordan Beverly, Tyler Biscaha, Steve Santos, Mike Morales, and Brian Broderick! (see new uploaded photo)
Congratulations to all that qualified this weekend in Toms River!
