Yeah Russia may not have sent their best (though I doubt they were all scrubs), and we didn't all our #1s either but what were the teams scores anyway?
I refused to believe its a waste of time if he got a college education (especially if it was scholarshiped) from one of the better college systems in the world.

I spoke to a few guys who had wrestled with Russians and a friend who is from Russia who came here at 14. He is one of the top 211's in the world now. He explained that if Russia brought their best team, it wouldnt be fair since their Junior level guys routinely hang with our world level guys. He said we might not score many points TOTAL let alone win a match. He also said he wasted 4yrs wrestling in college here when he should have been focused on the worlds.

I had an interesting talk with Mike from Rhino when we were filming and he made a great point. We were talking about how the Russian team had been shutout against Illinois and then USA at NYAC and how that was a long way to travel to get smashed; then he told me when he was in high school he was on a pretty loaded USA team that went to Russia and didn't win a match. Pretty cool story. I was definately disappointed the Russian team wasn't better and I would love to see our best vs their best but all in all this was an amazing event, the USA teams had some serious talent, NYAC Rocks!

Then we need to organize a tournament or dual to have our best boys up against theirs. Where every match is a battle. I actually have faith in our American kids.

I think the reason as to why the Russian boys over there are not as talented as US Americans is that our schooling system is much better and we provide many more opportunities for our boys to become better. The Russian have very talented wrestlers on the olympic teams, however there schooling system for their young is not what ours is. God bless America and Freedom!
