So I find my self sitting in Denver International Airport with some extra time to burn, since getting rerouted from Fargo to Philly. My life has been pretty crazy the last few days since the trials ended. Of course I couldn't ask for more, I achieved a life long dream and my family and friends have been so supportive. As a wrestling fan the 2008 trials was the most exciting trials since 2000 ( i have watched all nine of them and competed in 6), there were many upset and epic battles to watch. Since then I have been back… more »

Not many people can say that "Coming back from Vegas I have a clear and focused mind" I have been grounded and learned from the feats that I saw. After watching the Olympic Trials I try and take a little bit from the best performances. I have never seen a wrestler with as unique mental perspective as Ben Askren. Ben isnt an amazing athlete in the physical realm, but has a real unique mental side that propels him to the top and makes him as a whole one of the best American Athletes in years. I take from Ben that… more »

As I sit back and think about the Russia trip, I realize that I have only scratched the surface with what I have shared with you. It was a crazy trip filled with new experiences, people, food, everything was different. These experiences started when I got off the plane in Russia. It was a great trip, but it is great to be sitting here on my couch. So here is a compilation of things that come to mind when I look back at the trip. Mullets are in. I think about one in five people sport a mullet in Russia… more »

Glory Is Nice

Glory Is Nice, So Is Cold Hard Cash I am sure that the feeling of winning a national, world, or Olympic title can go unmatched. Even being a witness to it gives me the chills. I am willing to bet that some people believe it to be the best feeling of their life. Think about it, if one dedicates most of their time, energy, life to a single thing, the thought of being the best would be sweet. What if that feeling was paired with a giant bankroll of cash, a flat (similar to an apartment), and a steady salary… more »

Russian Update

Well, I just got back from a trek to find some internet. After several subway rides and walks I found a McDonalds. They said they had free wifi. Unfortunately it kicks you off after 30 minutes and that is not enough time to get even a match up. This trend has made me very frustrated all trip. Luckily the wrestling was so fun to watch, it was like therapy. This experience was amazing and I urge anyone who can to check it out. Just remember to bring your own interpreter. The one part of this trip that I am really… more »

Message #72 - INTIMIDATION

The Word Intimidation Has Meaning for everyone. If you know how to intimidate people you can make it work for you. If you get intimidated, it will destroy you. So what is intimidation? What is it that just makes you feel timid and scared? What makes that little voice in your mind say "this is to much for me" 'I can't face this". I mean it just saps you of your strength. So you want to see an example of INTIMIDATION... just watch the stare down before any of Mike Tyson's fights (his early fights...especially his fight with Michael Spinks… more »

2 of 3 Done

Well, the first two days of Russian Nationals are complete. I am exhausted. It is hard to sleep because it is light 24 hours a day right now. Three weight classes will compete tomorrow. The setup is interesting. On the first and second days, two weight classes wrestle all the way through on the third day the last three weight classes compete. The more a wrestler wins, the quicker the matches come. It looks tiring. I have gotten about thirty matches a day, but the internet is slow here and it takes time to get anything up, I cant wait… more »

Its been about 62 hours since we began the transfer and finally we completed it. I have already begun a list of things to iron out but this new platform is way better! Im excited about the coverages, the embed features, and the "My Videos". People want to store their technique in some kind of orderly fashion and the "My Videos" page will really help out. Note: You have to be logged in to start creating it. Like I said in that crazy video I made in front of the HQ, the most important thing about this platform is that… more »
