We went 1-1 losing to Kent City but beating Tri-County. We didn't have our good strong line up. Alot of people had to bump up a weight class. And to top that every body was looking tired and the intensity was way down. But after today's intense practice things are looking up for us on saturday :>) We can come home with this win...I know it, good luck

Our first dual meet is tommorow and I thought I would post a blog. This blog is going to be about my thoughts going into this dual. This year looks to be a good year for us we have almost our full strong line-up situated, as long as everybody can make weight in the future. I think we should come home with the dual meet win tommorow even though. As long as you guys wrestle with intensity and use the techniques that you have been taught. Good Luck tommorow guys.

pre season is over for the high school but jr. high has already started. we had a tourney last weekend and had 4 state qualifers. now we have 3 days off to get fat on turkey. but we still have a tourney on the 8th of december (my b-day). we have another state qualifer. the top 2 get to go to state. we have practice on monday. have a great turkey day! more »

The Red wolves took on Northeastern Guilford and won 55-27.
Raheem Surles 160 lbs and Steve Carr 215lbs each pinned their opponent.
Northeastern Guilford gave up 7 weight class's.

After the Northeaster Dual the Redwolves battled the Eastern Guilford squad.
their efforts were not enough as the red wolves lost 55-21.

Adam Dodson 140 lbs won his match 7-0

today the boiling springs junior high had a tournament at hillcrest high school that was a south carolina state qualifier. 4 of our 14 wrestlers qualified for state (1st palce 120lbs)corey yantz,(1st place 170lbs)alex brown,(1st place 85lbs)ian clevenger and me 9lbs i got 2nd place behind austin such. also trey young got 3rd in 125lbs. all of our wrestler wrestled really well. our next tournament is at south pointe(state quailfier)we hope to have many more state qualifiers. all the wrstler that wrestled for bsjh were nic richards, kyle busbee, prston gregory, trey daniel(me), corey yantz, trey young, ian clevenger, alex… more »

I feel the team should feel very confident and relaxed going into the Cobber Open this weekend. The guys have been training hard for a full month now in the wrestling room and have shown great discipline in their workouts. I feel that we are hungry to compete and I am excited to see these guys get out on the mat. Everybody should take comfort knowing how hard they have worked and feel confident in their abilities heading into this weekend. We need to continue to have a "here and now" focus. to day i cut down on the food to get to 90 and i made it i just gotta mantain my weight. saturday i have a tournament at hilcrest high i got 11 kids in my weight class. the only one i know is Austin such. i hope to do well and i will. more »

Today is a big day. We are going to wrestle off for a varsity spots. I will post the results on the results page. Our first dual is on Monday. We will be wrestling Eastern Guilford on November 19th. We are still waiting for our full squad to get into the room. The football team will be playing Reedsville, the #1 team in NC 2a hs Football.

St. Cloud, Minn. -The St. Cloud State University wrestling Team Black dominated Team Red by a score of 33-8 at the Annual Husky Black/Red Classic on Nov. 10, in SCSU's Halenbeck Hall. The intra-squad meet was highlighted by falls from Team Black’s Westy Hanson (So, 125lbs., Crookston, MN), John Sundgren (RFr, 157lbs., Blaine, MN) and Tad Merritt (Fr, 165lbs., Canby, MN). St. Cloud State University wrestling will begin its second season under the leadership of coach Steve Costanzo in 2007-08.

The Huskies entered the Costanzo era with a 4-7 record in 2006-07, but the return of several top notch veterans and redshirt athletes along with one of the nation’s top NCAA Division II recruit classes has produced a new sense of optimism for success this winter.

“We hope to have a much stronger team this year,” Costanzo said. “We will be a young team,and our line-up will be a lot different than last year.” more »

Today I put in a new sound system for my wrestlers. Although it is pretty extravagant and a little beyond my means but I know that having a sound system that plays good music can really amp up the intensity and excitement of a practice. We have started to see a steady stream of new faces coming into the room and our coaching staff is pleased to see several of the JV football players starting to trickle in. Hello UNC wrestlers/alumni/fans! This is my first installment of blogs, which will be used to keep you up to speed with Bear Wrestling. We’ve had a very productive preseason and first couple weeks of official practice. Our freshman class has been working extremely hard to make the transition from high school to college wrestling (top-bottom/ridding time). A few standouts in preseason training were Casey Cruz and Ryan Johnson.
