People don't wrestle because its fun. Ask any wrestler, most of them hate it, but they couldn't imagine their life without it. Its part of them….the Hate/love relationship. It's what they live for. They live for the minute when weigh-ins start, the good hardy meal that they eat after the tournament as a team, and the bus ride home with a full stomach and a medal that shows they did well that day. I have inherited a werstling club at our high school in New Zealand - not many students, not high ability. I have done Judo and other arts before but not wrestling. I need to find a good manual of wrestling moves that I can teach the boys here. Is there anything online I can use to start with? I think with a bit of organisation and time I can improve their ability quite a lot but first I have to get to grips with what wrestling is. more »

What a way to end the year...with the Riverdale Wrestling Super32 tournament. It has been awesome to watch the 32 wrestler (both experienced and not so seasoned) work themselves into position to have a doughnut party on Friday. The top 8 get the prize-the winner get the spoils, and the losers gets....the crumbs? Ok I think that the year went great we had alot of placers. But I think that there needs to be a little more effort from the 7th graders next year then them as six graders. We all worked really hard with the great coaches that we have had this year and I hope we see them again the next. more »
