The Osceola varsity wrestling team placed three members in the FHSAA 3A State Finals for tonight at 6:30 pm, and are guaranteed four state placewinners with three others still battling for a spot on the award stand.
Freshman Pete Baldwin (119 lbs) led off the semifinal charge with a second period fall over defending state champion Gabe Chandler of Miami Braddock. It's what we live for. What we look forward to every day. We put our hearts and souls into every sprint, every live go, every move. We work our asses off in 5 practices per week just to beat the kid across the mat from us. We travel all over the country to seek the ultimate competitor to challenge us to do better. hey everyone this is trey again. i had a good first jr high season. our team was great. we won over 190 matches. i finished the season 17-5. i have some things to work on. hopefully i will do better next year and go undefeated. freestyle and greco is coming in march any one on the jr high team that wants to come do freestyle has to register with coach sawyer has to pay a small fee. by the way congrats alex brown for winning first in state at 170. more »

I wanted to write this blog to let younger kids who might read this about the mental toughness this sport offers. I'm an ex-wrestler, and now an official of 8 years. I wish I knew then what I know now. As an official I see it from a different perspective.
