Back to School and the Countdown Begins

We hit the road last weekend for a long but positive trip to Oregon and picked up some great wins. Now the countdown to Nationals begins with the return of schoolwork! As much as no one wants to go back to class, it’s nice to be back in the routine of campus life and having something to do besides training 24/7. We’ve used Christmas break to elevate our conditioning limits and find new levels of fatigue. Viva Las Vegas!!!
Potentially the toughest pre-NCAA national tournament of the year! Eight of our wrestlers have earned their ticket through dedicated, hard-work to compete at the Cliff Keen Invite. These eight include Tony Mustari, Blayze Bahe, Richard Lohr, Daniel Prater, Justin Gaethje, Devan Lewis, Ryan Johnson, and Reece Hopkin.

This tournament can elevate an individual into the highest tier of the ranking and drop those already there, right out. Being a two-day weigh-in, with the strength of competition, and the ahhhh of Las Vegas, I believe this is the best tournament of the… more »

FINALLY COMPETITION IS HERE

Hello UNC wrestlers/alumni/fans! This is my first installment of blogs, which will be used to keep you up to speed with Bear Wrestling. We’ve had a very productive preseason and first couple weeks of official practice. Our freshman class has been working extremely hard to make the transition from high school to college wrestling (top-bottom/ridding time). A few standouts in preseason training were Casey Cruz and Ryan Johnson.
