Message #88 - Are You Putting It All On The Line...?

Lee Kemp | Profile
July 14, 2009

There's no Limit to What You Can Do...But to Find Out What You Can Do...You Must First Put It All On The Line...

The reason most people don't put it all on the line is because the very act of putting it on the line exposes any weaknesses and, of course, any strengths.

Putting it on the line means going all out...holding nothing back.

HOW ELSE WILL YOU KNOW WHAT YOU REALLY CAN DO?

HOW ELSE WILL YOU BE ABLE TO MAKE ANY CHANGES BASED ON EXPOSED WEAKNESSES?

You need to know what your strengths are just as you must know what your weakness are.

To win at the highest levels you must know what your strengths and weakness are and you must practice this every day.

Put it all on the line every day.

I agree you should always put it all on the line, but somtimes it can be really scary. If you are in a match going one and one with a guy, lots of people watching, somtimes you get scared and you only use what you think will work. How do you lose this fear?

I consider Lee Kemp to be the first wrestler of the modern era. He wrestled a lot like the guys today--great position, basic skills, well-conditioned. His matches were not always exciting but he was almost impossible to score on. He beat my friend in the 1976 NCAA finals 3-0, but it was a really lopsided match although not high scoring.

WOW! Lee you really laid it down on what it boils down to. I'll admit that this is a problem that I have: not willing to expose my weaknesses along with my strengths. Your advice and wisdom messages are truly amazing. Thank you so much. This specific message is what I need to live by. If I live by this message, then I can truly find out what I can do.
