Well we ran into a wall this weekend after a long stretch of winning everything that was not bolted to the floor. When they anounced our team as second place it was almost dead quiet. And what is funny is 2nd is the best placement in our schools history at this challenging tournament. The kids are used to winning, being first, and they expect to win (which is a darn good thing). Trenton Rematch 12-17-2008 The much anticipated rematch. The last match ends with us on top 36-35 because one of our kids wrestling up a weight fights to not get pinned and instead gets teched, that was the difference. So Tuesday nights practice leading up to the rematch was intense. It felt like the walls of the room were going to just explode. Everyone was all out brawling, honestly that level of intensity I have never seen in that room, never, before. It seems no one can remember Annapolis ever winning the Garden City Christmas Invitational. The 2008-2009 team did just that with no seniors, missing two very good State ranked wrestlers, no 189, 215 and a green Heavy Weight. 5 Champs wow, what a day. more »
