People don't wrestle because its fun. Ask any wrestler, most of them hate it, but they couldn't imagine their life without it. Its part of them….the Hate/love relationship. It's what they live for. They live for the minute when weigh-ins start, the good hardy meal that they eat after the tournament as a team, and the bus ride home with a full stomach and a medal that shows they did well that day. Gut drills, sprints, and hours of technique and live wrestling are all things that helped lead up to that day. The dedication and the discipline that most people don't see is what makes it the hardest, but is the most rewarding. The special bond that a wrestler has with his coach is not like any other sport. He is his drill sergeant, his nutritious, and aid along side the mat. They live for the way it feels when they come out on the mat as the underdog and come out on top in the end. You now know those miles you ran everyday after practice were worth it. They live for the way you become a family with your team, they live for the countless songs you sing in your head before your match. They live for the competition, the challenge , the memories, and the pain, its who they are. It's who we are. WE ARE WRESTLERS no subs, to bail you out when your tired, no time outs to rethink your stratagy, no special teams, you are your offense the only defense you know is defending a shot, the stratagy for your match comes from instinct. 6 minutes one on one pride vs. pride no big deal contracts at the end of the road and when its all over all you have to show for are the scars full of memories of the blood you spilled, the sweat your poured and the glory that came after the pain.
