Well, the wrestling season is over and it's time to gear it up for the off season. There'll be a lot of lifting, drilling and beer swilling occurring around the country these next few months. I've had the opportunity to compete and then coach a lot of kids in the sport of wrestling throughout the years. Everyone focuses on the wrestling champions. People like success stories on the mat but, I've found, most "champions" aren't worth a crap off the mat, as people. Many also like to relive the glory days and have difficulty keeping it together once their competitive days are over. I have tried to teach my kids the importance of succeeding off the mat.
