Quick thoughts

Ben Askren | Profile
August 14, 2008

Ok just two quick thoughts for my blog today.

1- They have these things over here called squatters, they are holes in the ground used as toilets, they really gross me out. I had to take my first duker on one the other day, because I couldn't find anything else. It really felt like a violation of my humanity, and I couldn't figure out how old people could manage, it was a challenge to me and I am a young healthy man.

2- The most fun part about Beijing may be the cab driving, it is so cheap and there appear to be no rules of the road. People run reds regualarly then in the turn lane on a straight green the turners always try to beat the cars going straight in the other direction, but it never seems to work. I have been less than one foot from an accident at least 100 times since I have been here, but somehow no one hits each other, it is like they have magic bumpers on their cars or something. I am still trying to figure out how there isn't an accident every other block.

That is all

Hey Ben, looks like you and Max are having a good time in China. We are watching the videos and wish we were there too. Have the brackets been set up yet. We are trying to follow as much of the schedule and the diversion times that might tell when you could be possibly wrestling. If you know when you will be wrestling please try to text us or have Chuck or Max text us. Have someone Text us. KICK A$$ and take names. Bring home the GOLD.

Hey mature one, I would like to know if you would like to have this conversation in person with me. You pick the place and the time. We can talk about taking dukers or being pampered or what ever you would like to talk about. You must be a hell of a stud to talk duker while Ben is in Beijing wrestling for his country and not able to defend himself from the Mature Ones comments. I can gauruntee you that Ben has not been raised with a silver spoon in his mouth and that when he has something to say he is not afraid to say it and let people know who he is. He has also been known to back up whatever he says also. Not everyone can be a perfect as you Mature One. He does not hide behind some stupid wanna be a wrestler, name such as Mature One. Put your damn name on the post or shut the f**k up. Oh yea let me know if you would like to talk about this a little more in person.

Mature One, Nice support of the person representing you and your country! NOT!. Don't your realize there are many different cultures converging in the same area. What we consider normal or odd is totally different than what other people think. Let the kids have some fun without being a fiddle fart. I also agree with Brady Hiatt. Your words lose all their credibility when you are not "Mature" enough to put your name with them. Keep up the hard work, Ben. We are pulling for you!

Riiiight. Satiev and Aldatov prolly can't remember a time when they weren't treated like the pampered athletes that they are. There's a reason top athletes don't come from poor countries, as a rule. Ben, you have had the best training, diet, education, and overall preparation for this games, and are going to crush the competition. You are a freak on the mat.

Ben, this is a perfect example of why you will go home with nothing but your knock off Armani suit. You have not lived in the conditions that these animals have. Do think Satiev complains about squatting to take a dump? Do you think aldatov cares if the cabbies drive safely? They were both wrestling for a hole to dump in before you knew what wrestling was. Grow the fulk up and respect someone other than yourself!

They DO--have the highest per capita rate of vehicle deaths in the world. Be careful, for Pete's sake. And just imagine, you are seeing it with about 50% or fewer of the normal number of cars.
