A Few Thoughts

In life sometimes you have to live with your glass half empty to be able to take yourself out of your comfort zone in order to learn about others.

Life is a journey in which we are all different in our own ways.

Different does not mean good or bad. It just means different.

People of all nations and walks of life just want respect.

If you have followed this blog continue to be intellectually curious about others so you get to understand yourself and the world more.

Iran is a traditional society wrestling to reconcile itself with the present. Iran is an exciting daring laboratory where experiments with two highly volatile chemicals, Islam and Democracy are being conducted: in the press, on the wrestling mat in the Bazaar, in private homes and in the streets.

Much of the drama is playing out in public as Iranians begin to lose their fear and assert themselves. Much of the drama also plays out in the shadows behind the veils and shutters that open to an outsider only slowly.

Iran is a nation that wants to experience the free world. Tehran is the youngest city in the world where the average age is 35 and the biggest city with 12 million + people.

This is an equation for change. Hopefully change will come and still keep culture & tradition intact.

Governments do not always reflect the sentiment of the people.

The Iranians are beautiful people and very gracious host. The USA team was like an exotic flower in the middle of the desert.

As Novo would say I wish all the world’s problems could be solved on the wrestling mat!!!!

Live Love take risk and experience life to the fullest.

Put it all on the line win or loose. You will gain in the match of life.

Congratulations to Tamillow & Tervel for taking home the bronze medal. USA also took home the Bronze in the team race with Iran gold and Russia silver.

It feels good to be back in the free world.

Champions are Made, Train Hard!!!!

This is why I love this sport. We can put differences aside to be brothers in wrestling. Too bad the rest of the world couldnt follow suit. Great blogs and some excellent, top notch wrestling out of Iran. Thanks for the great service you did for our sport.

Pedram Rahmatabadi,

Real life americans know that the Iranian people are a great civilized people. The actions and words of "Our" government should not be reflected upon us. They are 2 very different groups of people.
I must agree, GREAT WRESTLING!

amazing footage, fantastic quotes. Loved this one, "Different does not mean good or bad. It just means different." We should definitely respect all cultures. Thanks for bringing the culture and wrestling of Iran to us.
