We headed up to Long Branch on the first nice sunny day in I don't know how long, the boys were ready to wrestle hard. Dean plowed through his bracket and took 1st, mainly because due to his weight in certain tournaments he gets thrown in with the REALLY little kids (4 and 5 years old). Dean has also progressed faster than we expected so for his benefit and the benefit of the other boys I think it's time we move Dean up in either in weight or division. In order for Dean to raise his skill level he needs to wrestle in a competitive bracket for his age and skill. Plowing through little kids will do neither Dean nor the other kids any good, I want Dean to win, but I also want him to earn it as a wrestler, not handed to him...

Charlie barfed again 2 minutes before his first match started. But, to my surprise came to the mat roarin' and ready to rumble. If you know Charlie you will know what I mean by "surprised". Charlie took his first match 13-0 and pressed on - - - he lost his next match 5-2 and wrestled hard and smart but it just wasn't meant to be that day. Charlie took second again and should be proud of his efforts...

Now we get a two week break - - - thank God.
