Zadick all but into Olympics

Mike Zadick should make the olympics. He is first in line as an alternate and the Bulgarian wrestler will not participate. Apparently the Bulgarian alternate got into a car accident. This is not official until the IOC signs off on it.

I think it is great that Za is in the Olympics and I look forward to watching him tonight. I just felt it was unfortunate that peole have to ruin what could be good discussion with stupid inappropiate comments. Did not realize that I would get jumped on because I would rather talk and see what people had to say about wrestling. I guess its all about the image we want to potray for our sport.

I am done with my rant and look forward to seeing Mike do well.

the only comment worth reading is the first one cause mature one is just bashing the us wrestling team. i mean come on its the olympics even if the us doesnt dominate which i hope they do we should still root for theUS unless you from another country. btw congrats to mike za

You want us to blow up at that "Mature" One, but I will not. To start off, the US has an impressive record, perhaps not at Russia's recently, but it isn't bad. Then consider that we practice an entirely different style most of the year and it's even more impressive what our team is doing. Finally, don't talk trash like that about anyone you wouldn't go toe to toe with.

Mature One   August 17, 2008 at 8:00pm
I agree with TP, this site has turned to trash. Ego maniac americans in a different culture still thinking they are king of the world. It doesn't matter who the billy goat from Iowa draws, he'll blow it. Actually, it would be nice to see Quintana tune him up...maybe throw him for 5 a couple of times, or maybe a Canuck tech him to pieces. You know the brawling style is a little old and has been caught on to by the rest of the world. Oooops, amybe I shouldn't have told you guys that...lol.

Like I said, we wonder why our sport has image problem. I hear people say all the time, how non-wrestling fans come to this site. His comment was bad enough but to condone it makes it worst. I guess I expected more from wrestling people. Guess I am wrong. Typical though, shoot the messenger instead of looking for stuff to be cleaned up.

My son is 10 years old and reads comments like anonymous cowards. Real appropiate and even more disapointing that you think it is ok. Then we wonder why our sport has a public perception problem.

Its comments like anonymous coward which is why I do not like my kids watching some of the video and blogs. You guys really need to clean the comments up. You come off as a media company but some of the comments I read are just downright ridicolous.

Drawing Batirov in the first round could actually be good for him. The Russian is the hands down favorite for the gold and if he beats him that will probably be one of his toughest matches. If he losses to him in the first round chances are very good that Batirov will make the gold medal match and therefore Za will qualify for the repachage round.
