Food for thought

Why are we rushing to raise money for an athletic department who just cut wrestling? Asu was never upfront to the wrestling community about the programs situation. How academic of them. Furthermore what about the duty to provide oppurtunity to all the highschool kids that wrestle in that state. As an academic institution they should reevaluate their role to the Arizona community. So why are we trying to raise money for this type of leadership? Think about the example we are giving to ADs all across the country:.....the message is: if you drop wrestling we will come and raise money for your athletic departments. That is not to say we shouldn't try and reason with the AD of Arizona state in a prodesional professional manner, but to reward her!?
As a community we may want to consider our efforts to raising money for a new program in Arizona at the university of Arizona. Maybe it could be a mens and womens program to make sure they are in line with title 9. If Arizona state wants to be seen as the states university that brutally cuts programs without giving problem solving a shot then that is their choice. However we should not reward that type of behavior. Furthermore by starting programs at the university of Arizona, their instate rival, we are punishing that type of behavior.
