Joe Williams grew up on the streets of chicago, where he attended the Harvey twisters wrestling club. He and his brothers were naturals at wrestling. They attended the famous Mount Carmel HS in Chicago where Joe dominated the Illinois wrestling scene.
He was a natural fit for Iowa. Dan Gable even came up to give the speach at the end of the year wrestling banquet.
Joe and his brother TJ were some of the most dominant wrestlers ever to wrestle at Iowa. Joe went on to win 3 NCAA National Titles at the University of Iowa.
Joe currently is training for that elusive gold medal. He has made the world team multiple times and made the Olympic team in 2004.
