Mo Lawal is considered one of the best wrestlers to come out of the large state of Texas. He started wrestling to support his football but it soon developed into his passion. Mo Lawal went on to win Texas State and represent Texas at nationals.

As soon as he was done with high school he was driving up to Central Oklahoma a powerhouse Division II school. At Central Oklahoma he was a 2x DII National champ. By his senior year Central Oklahoma and the Division II quest wasn?t large enough for MO. He transferred to the legendary Oklahoma State and vied for a Division I title. He fell a little short but took 3rd at 197lbs.

Mo was just getting started though and right away was contending for the 2004 olympic spot. In 5 years he went from not being a division I recruit to contending with the legendary Cael Sanderson, the Olympic champion, for the Olympic spot. Again he came short but kept at it. In 2005 Mo Lawal finally reached the national championship that had been avoiding him the two years prior. He represented the US in the World Championships in 2005 and had a strong performance yet did not medal.

After falling just short of making the Olympic wrestling team in 2008 Mo started training mma full time. He has no one place that he considers his training gym. His first fights have been in Sengoku in Japan and plans to one day get into the UFC.
