ASICS Future Stars: Top 5 Junior High Wrestlers
We’ve taken a deeper look at our ASICS Future Stars in grades 9-11 and now it’s time to give our top five junior high wrestlers some props.

We’ve see these guys take on some of the toughest high school competition and in some cases beat them handily. As we take a look at our top five junior high schoolers one thing is for certain, the future is bright for wrestling with young studs like this coming up through the ranks.

1. Beau Bartlett: Bartlett is one of those guys that will have a spotlight on him where ever he goes. As a middle schooler he’s won back-to-back titles at Eastern States the last two years with wins over #1-Adam Busiello and #11-Tommy Cox, who he beat twice last season. Bartlett is a tough youngster and surely has a lot more winning to do.

2. Joshua Saunders: Saunders is another guy who has been scrapping with the biggest and baddest guys in the country. At Journeymen Classic he defeated two-time PA state champ Tyson Klump. And at FloNationals he was seconds away from knocking off eventual champion Ian Timmins. He’s got a lot of offense and can battle with anyone.

3. Sammy Hillegas: Sammy’s got a nice collection of titles under his belt. He’s won PJW’s as well as a Super 32 middle school title. He has also taken third at S32 as well. Winning is just what he does. He did have a tough time in Akron just a few weeks back but he showed a ton of promise.

4. Cullan Schriever: Schriever is the next big thing coming out of Iowa. Like Bartlett, Schriever always has a spotlight on him. Guys are always looking to take him out and a lot of the time they come up empty handed. He’s got great attacks and can score on anyone.

5. Carson Manville: Carson was nearly the first Manville to make the FloNational finals before he was edged out by eventual champion Jaret Lane in the semis. But he did put together an impressive win over Brandan Betancourt of Clovis in the quarters. He’s extremely tough and will keep the halo-style alive for years to come.
