For over 50 years, the New York Athletic Club of New York City, USA, has hosted the annual NYAC Holiday International Wrestling Championships, now known as the Bill Farrell International Open. The event is named in honor of the late Bill Farrell, former NYAC Wrestling Chairman and 1972 Olympic coach.

This years Bill Farrell International Open is extremely important as the highest placing USA athlete per weight category in Men's Freestyle, Women's Freestyle and Greco-Roman who has yet to qualify will earn a spot in the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials.

Last years event was hosted at Hofstra University, but this November 6-7, will make its return to the historic, New York Athletic Club. Event director, Mo Tavakolian, had this to say about this years event:

This tournament is very rich in history and has been going on for over 50 yrs. It gets richer and richer every year. It started out as a small quint holiday tournament and today its one of the toughest international tournaments here in the states. We moved it to Hofstra University last year and had the competition in their beautiful Mack arena. But there is always something to say about having it in the NYAC where it all started. it is smaller and tight but thats what makes this tournament so special.

Not only will this years tournmanent feature some of the United State's biggest stars, but some of the world's best as well. Logan Stieber, Aaron Pico, Kellen Russell, Nick Gwiazdowski will do battle with some of the best wrestles from Korea, Japan, and Russia.
