The 40th edition of the Dapper Dan went by so fast. I told this to Nick, and he said, "that's what happens when the wrestling is so good."

Touche, Nick. Touche.

Below are breakdowns of each match with links to the videos. Congrats to all who participated in Team USA's 25-16 win.


126 - #2 Stevan Micic (USA) vs. #3 Zeke Moisey (PA)
1st: Moisey had a standing single early but couldn't finish. Then Micic was in on two different attacks but couldn't convert.
2nd: Moisey down. Quick escape and then a shot had Micic rear standing. Moisey granbied but Micic covered and got the two. Micic continues to work shots off of drags and gets another takedown. 4-2.
3rd: Micic blew it wide open with two different feet-to-back scores.

Final Score: Micic md. Moisey, 13-4
Team Score: USA 4 - 0 



152 - #1 Bryce Brill (USA) vs. #4 TC Warner (PA)
1st: Warner went cross ankle pick but Brill countered for two of his own. Warner nearly had a reversal but it was stalemated and Brill rode out the rest of the period.
2nd: Warner chose down and Brill opted to start neutral. Brill was in deep on a gorgeous high crotch and converted. Brill rode tough to close the period 4-1.
3rd: Brill caught a foot while Warner tried to put in a boot and got the escape.

Final Score: Brill dec. Warner, 5-1
Team Score: USA 7-0



113 - #8 Brent Fleetwood (USA) vs. #7 Ethan Lizak (PA)
1st: No real scoring threats.
2nd: Fleetwood starts down. Lizak got in trouble riding legs and gave up the escape. Fleetwood took a nice low level attack with 15seconds remaining in the period but ran out of time as he was trying to come up the middle.
3rd: Lizak underneath. He hit a switch for the reversal about twenty seconds in. Lizak hit with stalling for putting legs in while Fleetwood tries to stand. Lizak rides out.

Final Score: Lizak dec. Fleetwood, 2-1
Team Score: USA 7-3



132 - #3 Josh Alber (USA) vs. Ian Brown (PA)
1st: No deep shots. Mostly fakes and half shots from outside.
2nd: Alber gets an early escape. Brown is in super deep and a scramble ensues where Brown is close to securing TD on a couple occasions but no change.
3rd: Brown underneath and as soon as he gets an escape Alber takes a deep shot and eventually finishes. Brown got an escape to make it 3-2 with 1:00 to go. Alber was in business again but ran out of real estate with :20.

Final Score: Alber dec. Brown, 3-2
Team Score: USA 10-3



170 - #2 Bo Nickal (USA) vs. Stephen Loiseau (PA)
1st: Loiseau scores just seconds in on a misderection move. He had a good ride going that forced a stall call on Bo, but as soon as that happens, Nickal gets his hips over for a reversal. After going out of bounds and with less than :10 left on the restart, Loiseau scored an E1 on a switch.
2nd: Loiseu underneath. After :45 of Nickal riding, he cuts him loose to make it 4-2. And Nickal went to work, scoring two takedowns in succession for a 6-5 lead. A late escape tied it going to the 3rd.
3rd: Nickal starts down and scores a quick R2. He starts making it look easy on his feet, racking up three takedowns.

Final Score: Nickal dec. 14-9
Team Score: USA 13-3



220 - Kyle Snyder (USA) vs. #5 Michael Boykin (PA)
1st: Tentative bout until :30 left when Boykin was in deep. After a flurry, Snyder shot a crisp high crotch and drove across for the 2.
2nd: Boykin kicked free. 2-1. Snyder pushes the pace as Boykin appears to be fading a bit. A stall call on Boykin before Snyder scores on a sharp single to end the period, 4-1.
3rd. Quick Snyder escape. It's Snyder moving forward and with a bunch of shot fakes, has Boykin off balance to score his third takedown. Another takedown and a stall call closed the scoring.

Final Score: Snyder dec. Boykin, 10-3
Team Score: USA 16-3



182 - #11 Joel Dixon (USA) vs. #3 Zack Zavatsky (PA)
1st: No scoring. Dixon moving forward.
2nd: Zavatsky to his feet and out quickly. Both guys looking for safe offense from ties.
3rd: Dixon underneath and out right away.
OT: Zavatsky tried a superduck than scored on an arm drag.

Final Score: Zavatsky dec. Dixon, 3-1 OT
Team Score: USA 16-6



160 - #1 Ryan Blees (USA) vs. #2 Garrett Peppelman
1st: Wrestling from ties much more than I would have guessed.
2nd: Peppelman escaped. Blees took a beatufiul double and drove through it but Peppelman locked through the crotch and then passed a leg to start a 1:00 scramble.
2nd: Blees scored an escape. At the 1:00 mark, Blees ran through a double for a 3-0 lead. In the closing moments, Peppelman took a deep shot and used great head pressure to convert a takedown for the win at the buzzer.

Final Score: Peppelman dec. Blees, 4-3
Team Score: USA 16-9



195 - #3 Chip Ness (USA) vs. #10 Tristan Sponseller (PA)
1st: Wild first period with Sponseller opeing up quickly with an early takedown. Ness came back with a reversal and a couple takedowns for a 6-4 lead after 1.
2nd: Ness cut Sponseller to start. Sponseller shot and Ness countered. Moments later, Sponseller returned the favor on a Ness shot, but Ness was able to reverse and ride out.
3rd: Ness down to start with a 10-8 lead. Sponseller rode for over a minute before Ness reversed.

Final Score: Ness dec. Sponseller, 12-9
Team Score: USA 19-9


120 - #1 Nathan Boston (USA) vs. #8 (126) Dalton Macri (PA)
1st: Macri pushes the pace early. He got in on a nice wrap-arm and secured the far ankle late in the period.
2nd: Right off the whistle, Macri elevated the head for the escape and scored on an ankle pick. 5-0 to end the period.
3rd: Boston starts down. Macri rode for about :45 when Boston turned in and Macri crossedfaced to his back for two nearfall. 

Final Score: Macri dec. Boston, 9-0
Team Score: USA 19-13



285 - #1 Nick Nevills (USA) vs. #2 Thomas Haines
1st: Flurry early as Haines takes a hi crotch and Nevills cut the corner on it. 2-1 Nevills.
2nd: Haines earned an escape. Later, Nevills scored on a near single off an underhook. After a Haines' escape, Nevills was working on another takedown when time expired.
3rd: Nevills with a 4-3 lead and starts down. Haines did a good job of riding but Nevills got the escape let for the final score.

Final Score: Nevills dec. Haines, 5-3
Team Score: USA 22-13


138 - #1 Joseph McKenna (USA) vs. #6 (145) Solomon Chishko (PA)
1st: McKenna drew first blood on a near single he worked up for. He then rode the rest of the period out.
2nd: McKenna toolk down and Chishko opted for a neutral start. No serious scoring situations thereafter. 
3rd: Chishko got an escape with 1:08 left making it 3-1. Chishko attacking at the end but McKenna earns the win.

Final Score: McKenna dec. Chishko, 3-1
Team Score: USA 25-13



145 - #3 Tyler Berger (USA) vs. #1 Jason Nolf (PA)
1st: Berger fired off a shot right off the whistle but Nolf earned a stalemate. Shortly after, Nolf scored on a little throw-by from front head. Nolf worked for a takedown on the edge for a long while and eventually got it.
2nd: Nolf down with a 4-1 lead, and gets the reversal when Berger gets high working bars. A couple deep shots by Berger get stalemated.
3rd: Berger underneath trailing 6-2. Berger escape and halfway through scores on an ankle shot. Berger nearly in business at the buzzer but just gets the reversal.

Final Score: Nolf dec. Berger, 8-5
Team Score: USA 25-16
