At Flowrestling we cringe at the word ‘amateur,’ which, for far too long has been associated with wrestling. Frankly, we feel ‘amateur’ is insulting. It’s never used in a positive context, and far too often connotes substandard and inferior levels of capabilities.

Is Jordan Burroughs an ‘Amateur’? We beg to differ.

Our best deserved to be called Pros. They are Pros. Words lead to framing and framing is hugely important in the marketability of any successful endeavor. Anyone using the word “amateur" is feeding into the continual obscurity of our sport.

Who was it that dubbed the WWE/WWF group 'Pro Wrestling,' and why did real wrestling allow that to happen? Essentially, real wrestling conceded a superior position (from a marketing and public relations angle) to a bunch of actors.

Wrestling needs to regain it's rightful nomenclature as true professionals among its athletes, business, and leadership.

Somewhere along the line, people have gotten the idea that money in sports is a bad thing. ‘Taboo,’ so-to-speak. For instance: independent wrestling clubs which have their detractors but which allow more wrestling people to do more wrestling-only things.

And they charge to train. The fact is, you have to pay for products and services. It creates it’s own wrestling economy. That’s a good thing for the sport.

Over the course of the last year the premium products at Flowrestling have expanded in size and scope. Technique Wave began as a video library of technique from the top coaches and athletes. We’ve since added several professional quality documentary series and the country’s top live events to our premium menu.

As such, in the coming weeks you’ll see “Tech Wave” re-branded as “Flo Pro,” a name that we think more accurately fits our offerings, which is now much more than technique, and also reflects our unwavering conviction to professionalize wrestling.

We as a company will always look to bring more money in to the sport. We have great confidence that our products are professionally produced, providing a unique experience and expanding the appeal and reach of wrestling. We re-invest in our resources so that there is stability; so that there will always be coverage and features of wrestling. That’s business and marketing. That’s Professional. It’s only by taking a professional, business-savvy approach, that we can change the breadth and depth of wrestling media, administration, and the sport itself.

Thank you for listening.

Go Pro!
