Big Wins
Redshirt-freshman Josh Demas (157) was the lone Buckeye to face back-to-back Top 20 wrestlers during the Wrestle for a Cure Duals in Harrisburg, Pa., Nov. 12. After downing Utah Valley’s Ethan Smith, 9-7, in overtime, Demas, a Columbus native, decisioned Old Dominion’s and No. 13 John Nicholson, 3-2, and North Carolina’s 18th ranked Corey Mock, 10-4.
All-Star
Nick Heflin, a 174-pound redshirt sophomore, was selected to compete in the 46th Annual NWCA All-Star Classic Presented by the Marines, the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced Nov. 10. A Massillon, Ohio, native, the fourth-ranked Heflin will wrestle Illinois’ and third-ranked Joey Blanton at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21 at Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe, Ariz.
