"Are you man enough to wear these shoes?"
The CEO of Suplay, Gary Frey, has a challenge for you; are you man enough to wear Easter colored shoes? Before you completely disagree, read the blog below by Gary. Then let Gary know what you think by e-mailing,gary@suplay.com.

In 1997, Adidas added a color combination to their Combat Speed wrestling shoe line that screamed "prissy".  The combination of Powder Blue, Pink and yellow were obviously colors for sissies only.  I mean who in their right mind would choose a wrestling shoe that looked like something from an Easter hunt.  After all, every wrestler knew that black or white was the traditional wrestling shoe color. But truth be told, and in retrospect, the Germans knew something about a macho wrestler's unconscious that most of us failed TO RECOGNIZE.  Wrestlers DO have a Sissy in their psyche.

Don't get me wrong . . . all of us have a little sissy, prissy in us.  But we bury these tendencies and guard them and only show them when we open a car door for our girlfriend or dry dishes for our moms. Indeed, we subvert this part of our personality until someone implies that we are less than masculine.  This implication can be covert (a sneer or a titter) or overt (an out and out challenge to our manhood).

The Germans knew this. They knew pink and blue and yellow shoes cried out to the world that the wearers were sissies.  They knew that they had invented (with that color combination) a sure way to get the wearer's opponent to insult HIS masculinity.  The Germans also knew that nothing prompted aggression and boosted adrenaline flow, like a whispered challenge:   "Call me a Wussy, and I'll kick your ass!"

The Germans also knew that color conscious moms everywhere would make their babies wear pink and blue and yellow to match their singlets  and that when these wrestling  youths were teased they had but one choice in life:  "Kick ass or die".

And it’s interesting to note that the Germans were prophetic.  Their Adidas, Easter colored, Combat Speeds have been one of the biggest selling, most popular wrestling shoes of all time.  The rumor goes that only a bad ass will wear them.  If you can find a pair be prepared to pay big bucks.  The last pair on Ebay went for over $150.00

Well how about this idea. . . Suplay is going to contract for  a limited number  of  Aggressor model wrestling shoes done in the Powder blue, Pink and yellow colors.  You get the German psychology, the Asics expertise and the sure fire popularity of the biggest selling shoe in the past decade all in one fell swoop.  These won't last long. If you're tough enough to wear ‘em ,we’ll save you a pair for $125.00 (price includes shipping).  Order early. Sizes: 3-13.

Man enough to wear these shoes?? Email gary@suplay.com to reserve your pair.
