World Champs just do World Champ things.

And Helen Maroulis is follwed that up perfectly as she brought home the gold from UWW Golden Grand Prix in Baku, Azerbaijan this past weekend.

On the way to her title she defeated 2013 European champion Roxana Zasina of Poland, 2015 World bronze medalist Odunayo Adekuoroye of Nigeria, 6-6 in the quarters and shutout 2015 European Games champion Angela Dorogan of Azerbaijan, 9-0 in the semis. Then in the finals she edged five-time World Medalist and 2011 World Champion Sofia Mattsson, 2-1.

The amount of competition that Maroulis had to knock off in order to stake her claim at the top is incredible and that is why she completely deserves to be the FloWrestler of the Week.

Other FloWrestler of the Week Nominees:

Logan Stieber, TMWC/Ohio RTC
– Claimed the silver at the UWW Golden Grand Prix at 65kg. Most notably, Stieber defeat 2014 World champion and 2015 World bronze medalist Soslan Ramonov of Russia, 17-13 among others to make the final where he fell 12-6 to Magomed Kurbanaliev of Russia.

Matt Cimato, Drexel
– Cimato added his name to the list of guys to knock off a top-ranked guy already this year. At Grapple at the Garden, Cimato frustrated and dominated NCAA Champion Jason Tsirtsis of Northwestern, 7-1. He was also named the Outstanding Wrestler of the event.

Chris Perez, Princeton
