Johnny Sebastian:Out For 2015-2016 Season
Johnny Sebastian:Out For 2015-2016 Season
The hits keep coming for the Northwestern wrestling team. It wasn’t that long ago they were redshirting their monster class of Stevan Micic, Bryce Brill and Johnny Sebastian. A few months go by and Micic has transferred out and now Johnny Sebastian, the 3 time New Jersey Champion is out for the entire season with a shoulder injury. This comes on the heels of Drew Pariano’s firing from Northwestern.
A shoulder injury is not unfamiliar territory for Sebastian who has battled shoulder issues in previous years. The Wildcat Freshman was set to compete at 165 pounds this year. 165 is significantly lighter than where he competed his Senior year of High School where he was the top ranked 182 pounder in the country. Even last year while redshirting Sebastian competed down at 174 where he compiled a 23-3 record while competing unattached.
Sebastian has set the timeline to be back competing by University Nationals and has maintained a very positive outlook despite this setback. He maintains high goals and expectations and believes he has the ability to win NCAA’s a year from now.
Check out Johnny Sebastian's big win at Who's #1 against Michael Pixley below. Here's hoping we see Johnny back on the mat soon!
