Johny Hendricks Can't Make Weight For UFC Fight
Johny Hendricks and Tyron Woodley were scheduled to fight tomorrow at UFC 192.
Hendricks, one of the top Welterweights in the country pulled out of the fight today due to weight cutting issues.
UFC President Dana White broke the news to the country:
Hendricks and Woodley are familiar opponents from their time on the wrestling mat. The last met in the Big 12 finals where Woodley allegedly bit Hendricks in their 165 pound match.
In an article from MMA Journalist Ariel Helwani, he details Hendricks battle with the weight cut whigh landed him in the hospital as well as Johny's thoughts after having to pull out of the fight. Hendricks was reportedly 13 pounds over yesterday but feeling good at that point. Later on things took a turn for the worse and Hendricks wound up in the hospital with kidney stones and a blockage in his intestine.
Hendricks did not rule out a potential weight change in this interview and acknowledged his options in this gem of a quote:
"I think I have to lose more fat or move up."
A disappointed Woodley said that this should go down as a loss for Hendricks. Dana White tweeted that despite the fight being off, Woodley would still be weighing in.
