10 Ranked American's In New UWW Rankings
Kyle Snyder wrestling at Pan Ams'.In the early July version of UWW Freestyle rankings team USA only had 6 athletes ranked. With some shuffling around and 5 new additions to the rankings Team USA now boasts 10 UWW ranked Freestyle wrestlers.

Making their way into rankings were James Green (ranked 16th), David Taylor (ranked 17th), Jake Herbert (ranked 19th), Kyle Snyder (ranked 15th) and Wynn Michalak (ranked 20th).

Tony Ramos fell from 15th to 17th at 57kg. His absence from the Pan American Games likely precipitated this fall. Conversely, Brent Metcalf continues to climb the ranks all the way to the 2nd position at 65kg. Metcalf is coming off a fantastic showing at 65kg at the Pan American Games.

At 70kg, James Green’s Spanish Gran Prix victory looked to have been the deciding factor behind his newfound International ranking. Like Green, David Taylor’s Spanish GP title as well as a Stepan Sargsyan title earned him a spot on the World Rankings as well at #17. Jordan Burroughs maintains his top spot as the #1 ranked 74kg wrestler.

Finishing 2nd at Pan Am’s was enough for Herbert to just skate onto the rankings at #19 at 86kg. Kyle Snyder made his debut after a dominant showing at the Pan Am games and sits at 15th. Wynn Michalak, who won the Spanish Gran Prix debuts at 20.

Tervel’s inactivity continues to haunt him in the UWW rankings as he slips down to 16th, just on spot ahead of Zach Rey who comes in at 17th after his Pan Am win.
