Starting tomorrow afternoon wrestlers from across the country will compete in the USA Wrestling Freestyle and Greco-Roman National Championships. Over 265 Schoolboy wrestlers will compete in this week’s event at the Wisconsin Dells Center in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.

The event, which serves as the final two legs of the USA Wrestling National Triple Crown, will feature six wrestlers who will battle it out for the prestigious award while hundreds of others will look to win their respective weight classes. 

Below, we take a weight class by weight class look at some of the top wrestlers in each weight class. 

70-pounds

The favorite to win the 70-pound weight class will be Carter Young of Oklahoma. He’s an Oklahoma and Southern Plains Regional Freestyle and Greco Champion and will look to add to his resume with a win at Nationals. He’ll be challenged by Jett Strickenberger of Colorado, Julian Handy of Pennsylvania, Maryland State Champion Nasir Wilkinson, and Billy Sullivan of Nevada.  

77-pounds

Cullan Schriever, ranked No. 12 by FloWrestling will look to continue his dominating season as he’ll look to add two more titles to his resume this weekend. He’ll be the odds on favorite to take home the title but will first have to get past Colorado State Champion Jackson Eller, Minnesota State Champion Paxton Creese, and Nate Rubino of Nebraska. 

84-pounds

There are two wrestlers who could make a deep run in the 84-pound weight class in Jalen Spuhler of Wisconsin and Andrew Chambal of Michigan. Spuhler is a Wisconsin Triple Crown winner and went undefeated during the VAC Holiday Duals while Chambal is NUWAY Nationals Champion and a Michigan Freestyle State Champion. 

Others to keep an eye on include Colorado State Champion Beau Ohlson, Dylan Ragusin of Illinois, Blake Noonan of Michigan, Wyatt Yapoujian of Colorado, Leif Schroeder of Montana and Riley Wertz of Missouri. 

91-pounds

Carson Manville, who is ranked No. 27 by FloWrestling, has an opportunity to keep his strong season going this week. He’ll have a tough bracket as he’ll eventually have to get past the Folkstyle National Champion Keegan O’Toole from Wisconsin. The Virginia native has had success in every event he’s entered in this season. He most recently took home the title in all three styles of the West Kids Regional Championships and is a Virginia Triple Crown winner. 

Challenging Manville and O’Toole will be Colorado State Champion Aaden Valdez, JJ White from Pennsylvania, and Cody Holmes from Wisconsin. 

98-pounds

Two wrestlers who are expected to make a deep run in the 98-pound weight class are Diego Guerrero from Arizona and Hunter Lewis from Wisconsin. Guerrero is an Arizona Triple Crown Winner while Lewis took home a Wisconsin Greco Roman State Championship and the Northern Plains Greco Regional Championship. 

Other wrestlers to keep an eye on include Jake Svihel from Minnesota, Ryan Wheeler from Washington, and Brent Miller from Wisconsin. 

105-pounds

The 105-pound weight class is loaded from top to bottom as it features the No. 2 wrestler in the Flo Junior High Big Board and two wrestlers who are looking to win the National Triple Crown. Sam Hillegas, ranked No. 2 by FloWrestling, will be a tough out but he’ll have to get past No. 36 overall wrestler Cade DeVos and Jon Bailey – both whom are looking to win the National Triple Crown, if he wants to win a title this week. 

Other wrestlers to keep an eye on include Illinois State Champion Domenic Zaccone, Colorado State Champion Drew Eller, and Pennsylvania State Champion Sam Hillegas.

112-pounds

Another wrestler who is looking to win a National Triple Crown Award is  Pennsylvania 112-pound wrestler Beau Bartlett. Bartlett, who is ranked No. 14 overall on the Junior High Big Board will have to get past the likes of in-state rival Michael Kistler, Rocky Elam from Missouri, and Zachary Weiler from Wisconsin. 

120-pounds

Aba Assad from Illinois won the Folkstyle National Championship in April and will look to win the final two styles this week. He’ll receive some tough competition from a handful of wrestlers that include Aaron Bahr from Wisconsin, Luke Nichter rom Pennsylvania, Dominic Damon from Washington, and Ryan Ripplinger from North Dakota. 

128-pounds

Alfonso Martinez owns both an Arizona Triple Crown Award and the Folkstyle National Championship. He’ll look to complete the quest for a National Triple Crown Award this week as he battles it out in the 128-pound bracket.

In order to win the title he’ll have to get past Carter Tuttle of Pennsylvania, Aaron Bancroft from North Carolina, and Tye Varndell from Pennsylvania. 

136-pounds

The 136-pound favorite will be Peter Christensen from Illinois who will have to battle past Caden Wright from Pennsylvania, Joshua Otto from Wisconsin, and Ryan New from Wisconsin. 

144-poounds

Adrian St. Germain from Washington will be the favorite to win the 144-pound title. He is a Washington Triple Crown winner as well as a Las Vegas Open Championship winner. He’ll be put to the test by Dajun Johnson from Wisconsin, Michael Cassidy from Missouri and Tyler Hannah from Wisconsin. 

152-pounds

Anthony Jaden Glauser will look to win the National Triple Crown as he’ll compete in the 152-pound weight class. He won the Foklstyle National title in April and will look to win two more National Championships this week.

In order to reach the top of the podium he’ll have to get past Bryant Schaaf of Wisconsin, Devin Winston of Missouri, Jakob Alvarado of Nevada, and Landon Brown of Oklahoma. 

160-pounds

Leading the 160-pound weight class will be Wisconsin Triple Crown winner Drew Hennessey. He will be challenged by Colby Hopkins of Texas, Dorian Crosby of Pennsylvania, Haydon Rockman of Virginia and Peter Herrera of Missouri. 

175-pounds

The 175-pound favorite is Folkstyle National Champion Jacob Kaminski of Illinois. He’ll look to win the National Triple Crown this weekend by defeating Santos Cantu of Oregon, Maximus Gomez of Illinois, Aidan Conner of Texas and Samuel Martin of Illinois. 

190-pounds

Luke Luffman of Illinois should have no problem capturing the National Triple Crown Award as he’ll be the favorite in the 190-poudn weight class. He’ll have to get past Trye Kaiser from Wisconsin and Mario Perez of Kansas to claim the titles. 

210-pounds

Leading the 210-pound weight class will be Adam Sepan from Colorado, Chase Dockter from North Dakota, and Ryan Smith from Alaska. 

265-pounds

Finally, Braden Lange, will look to win the National Triple Crown as he’ll have to battle past two other competitors in the weight class. Lange won the Folkstyle National Championship in April and will have to beat Colorado State Champion Andy Garcia and Ryan Skillington of Missouri to win the Freestyle and Greco-Roman titles.
