Virginia Tech Releases 2015-16 Schedule
Virginia Tech head wrestling coach, Kevin Dresser, released the Hokies 2015-16 schedule. The Hokies took to Twitter to make the announcement.
The Hokie's open up the season November 6th at home against Iowa State, and then just two days later host the annual Hokie Open. On November 15th Virginia Tech hosts Penn State in a dual in which they hope to break the attendance record of Cassell Coliseum. Last season Virginia Tech knocked off eventual national champion Ohio State in Cassell Coliseum thanks to the help of a large crowd. Watch Zach Epperly send the crowd into a frenzy, and cause our own Christian Pyles to lose his mind.
The Hokies then kick-off 2016 with a Jan. 3 dual at George Mason, and will look to continue to defend their Virginia Duals title on January 8-9.
After hosting three successful duals in the new Moss Arts Center a year ago, Virginia Tech will once again have two duals there next season. On Jan. 15 the Hokies will welcome Northern Iowa, and the next day the Tar Heels of North Carolina. In case you missed it last season, check out this behind the scenes look at the amazing venue.
Virginia Tech then finishes the last two months away from Blaksburg with road trips to Virginia, Pitt, Edinboro, NC State, Duke, and will participate in the National Duals this season.
The 2016 ACC Championships will be hosted by rival Virginia in Charlottesville on Saturday March 5. Virginia Tech will then look for their fourth straight top ten finish at the NCAA Championships at Madison Square Garden, March 17-19.
