Grant Leeth To Transfer
Grant Leeth 141 Pounds TransfersGrant Leeth was one of the biggest signings for Duke’s wrestling program a year ago. Now the Missouri stand-out 149 pounder is headed back to wrestle in his home state. Grant Leeth informed FloWrestling that he would be transferring back to Missouri next year to wrestle for the Tigers. Missouri just placed 4th at the 2015 NCAA Championships.

We caught up with Grant who let us know how he came to this decision:

“It was a really tough decision but I felt like it was the right one for me. I chose Mizzou because I think it will be incredible to represent my home state, the coaching staff is amazing, and I'm really close with a lot of guys on the team. I have some big shoes that I am ready to fill!”

Whose shoes? That would be 149 pound NCAA Champion Drake Houdashelt. His graduation, and All-American Lavion Mayes decision to stay down at 141 enables Leeth to slot in well into 149.

Leeth was granted a full release and will be eligible to wrestle next year for Missouri.

Leeth was a 3 time Missouri State Champion in high school with a whopping 204-11 record. He was a Fargo champion as well as a participant in the first ever Who’s #1!

Leeth had a message for the Duke Wrestling program as well:

“I just wanted to thank the Duke coaches for the past year and the time they put Into me as a wrestler and a person. They are awesome people and I absolutely appreciate the things they did. That being said, the school just wasn't a fit for me and I look forward to my next few years as a Mizzou Tiger!”

Leeth is coming off a solid redshirt season with a 14-4 record.  Check out Grant's win over Nationally Ranked Collin Heffernan at the 2015 Southern Scuffle!
