Wrestler of the Week: Nick Suriano
It was a weekend of high intensity action all over the country with plenty of guys putting on incredible showings.

But winning one of the toughest high school tournaments in the nation and doing it in an extremely dominant way, not to mention for the third time, moves you to the top of the heap when it comes to the list of noteworthy performers.

And that is exactly what Bergen Catholic junior Nick Suriano did to be named this week’s Flo Wrestler of the Week.

A trio of falls, a pair of regular decisions and major decision highlighted Suriano’s road to his third straight Beast of the East title. The win puts him on track to join Mark Grey who is the only wrestler to ever win four Beast titles.

The 2nd-ranked 120-pound wrestler in the country, who was the top-seed in the tournament, put on a show from start to finish. He capped off his championship run with an 8-1 win in the final over Massillon Perry’s 3rd-seeded Jake Newhouse.

Other Flo Wrestler of the Week Nominees:

Nolan Boyd, Oklahoma State: Claimed the 184-pound Reno Tournament of Champions title and was named the Outstanding Wrestler. Boyd, who was the second seed in the tournament and is currently ranked 17th, pinned Wyoming’s 16th-ranked Ben Stroh in the semifinals before upsetting No. 7 Taylor Meeks, 9-3 in the final.

Fredy Stroker, Bettendorf: Made history with his fourth consecutive KC Stampede title with victories over No. 8 Tristan Moran of Stillwater and No. 18 Ethan Karsten of Platte City.

Luke Karam, Bethlehem Catholic: Took home the 126-pound Beast of the East title with victory over HM-Peter Lipari along with No. 6 Austin Assad and No. 7 Jose Rodriguez.

Daton Fix, Sand Springs: Dominated the 120-pound field with all bonus point victories en route to his second straight KC Stampede title.
