W2W4: Reno Madness, Dean's Rebound and Schopp/Beckman 4!
This weekend is so FAT there’s no room for What 2 Watch For on a Friday!  That’s what I call a “good problem.” Huge weekend, so let’s get rolling!

Thursday, December 18

Northwestern at Minnesota

133-Dom Malone will have his hands full with Chris Dardanes, but it still could be a fun match.
141-Jameson Oster has shown flashes, but will be tasked with wrestling Nick Dardanes, tough matchup.
165-All American Pierce Harger will be taking on Minnesota’s Nick Wanzek. Should be a pretty tight bout.
197-Alex Polizzi goes against #2 Scott Schiller
285-#1 Mike McMullan against Mike Kroells. Tough one for the young buck.

Friday, December 19

Kent State at Missouri
133-Mack McGuire takes on Matt Manley in a battle of alliterative 133 pounders!
149-Michael DePalma faces the red hot #2 Drake Houdashelt!
157-Ian Miller goes up against the Crouching Tiger - Joey LaVallee!

South Dakota State at Missouri
157-Cody Pack will tangle with Joey Lavalle who has a tough weekend ahead.
197-We could potentially see Nathan Rotert against J’den Cox if he doesn’t bump to face Everard at 285.

Kent State v. South Dakota State
157-Ian Miller goes against Cody Pack in a battle of ranked 57’s.

Virginia Tech v. PSU
125-Great start here as we’ll have Joey Dance taking on Jordan Conaway.
133-Jimmy Gulibon comes in as a heavy favorite against Kevin Norstrem who has proven to be a tough out so far.
149-Can Sal Mastriani get back on track against the super-slick Zach Beitz?
174-Matt Brown is a big favorite over VT’s very tough Freshman Zach Epperly.
184-Matt McCutcheon v. Austin Gabel could be a huge swing match between two comparably tough 184’s.
197-Morgan McIntosh has been on a tear this year, but Jared Haught has shown to be a tough match for even the elite of 197.
285-Whichever PSU heavy we see it’s going to be a very close match against Ty Walz. My guess is we see Jon Gingrich, but who really knows? PSU has options here.

Saturday, December 20

UTC at ODU

125-Should have a great one between Sean Boyle and Brandon Jeske!

Cornell v. Edinboro
 - LIVE ON FLO:
125-Nahshon Garrett will be a huge favorite against Kory Mines.
141-Can Mark Grey keep it close against Mitchell Port?
149-Chris Villalonga may pull the upset against All American Dave Habat!
165-Will we see the return of Dylan Palacio for Cornell?
184-Gabe Dean looks to rebound off of a rough CKLV against Vic Avery.

Army v. Rutgers - LIVE ON FLO:
157-Russell Parson’s is coming off a great CKLV and is looking for more. He’ll be tasked with returning Rutgers AA, Anthony Perrotti!

Hofstra v. Maryland - LIVE ON FLO:
141-Jamel Hudson will be taking on Shyheim Brown of Maryland in a battle for ranked 141’s.

Lehigh v. Princeton - LIVE ON FLO:
197-2 of my favorite 197’s will tangle here as Elliot Riddick will face the surging Abe Ayala of Princeton!

Cornell v. UNI - LIVE ON FLO:
125-Nahshon Garrett v. Dylan Peters. What else could I possibly say!?

Duke v. Maryland - LIVE ON FLO:
141-We should see Brandon Gambucci against Shyheim Brown in what should be a very fun match to watch!

Edinboro v. Lehigh - LIVE ON FLO:
125-Kory Mines will be going against Scotty Parker. Just two tough kids scrappin’! Don’t miss it.
133-Schopp v. Beckman take 4! It’s going down!
141-Mitchell Port will take on Randy Cruuuuuuz. Cruz is a top monster, but Port is a freak!
157-I’d love to watch Austin Matthews take on Dylan Milonas! That’s the matchup we will likely see!
184-Vic Avery will be put to the test by Lehigh’s Nate Brown!

Reno Tournament of Champions-LIVE ON FLO: We’ll see Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Boise State, Ohio Oregon State, Arizona State, Cal Poly, CSU Bakersfield, Stanford, Utah Valley, Grand Canyon all scrap for titles out west! Flo is live ALL Mats and The Arena will be keeping you up to speed at all times!

125-Just a really fun field here with Tyler Cox, Ronnie Bresser, Evan Silver, Chasen Tolbert and Tyler Iwamura all in the field. If Cox and Bresser hit I’m setting the over/under for match points scored in regulation at 67.5 and I might take the over!

133-Nice mix of youth and experience in this bracket. Jade rauser, Kagan Squire, Judson Preskitt will all be battling for the title. True Freshman Gary Wayne Harding will be put to the test here for Oklahoma State as well. Cody Brewer, however, should be the man to beat in this field!

141-Dean Heil is the man I want to see in this bracket. The Oklahoma State Freshman is up a weight and has been solid this year so far. Wyoming’s Cole Mendenhall, and Oklahoma State’s Mike Magaldo is here as well. Geo Martinez of Boise State looked great at CKLV and could very well be the class of this weight.

149-Tywan Claxton of Ohio, Jake Elliott of Wyoming, Preston McCalmon and Tyler Berger, the True Freshman from Nebraska will be the key players here at 149.

157-Anthony Collica of Oklahoma State will look for the title here against Joey Delgado, Max Hvolbek, Spartacus Chino and Archie Colgan. Tough field!

165-I’ve been hearing TONS of good things about True Freshman Chandler Rogers of Oklahoma State. Can’t wait to watch him in person here as well as another tough True Freshman, Ryan Blees. Dakota Friesth, Jim Wilson, Harrison Hightower add to one of the toughest brackets in Reno!

174-The toss monster Brock Gutches is back and is looking for his Reno title! He’ll be challenged by Ohio U AA Cody Walters, Raymond Waters, Andy McCulley, Kevin Radford (potential X factor?), Joe Latham and Dom Kastl! Another very tough field!

184-Taylor Meeks is the big dog here for Oregon State. He’ll be challenged by Ben Stroh and Nolan Boyd!

197-Austin Schafer, Phil Wellington and Shane Woods will all lock horns here at Reno!

285-A year ago Jeramy Sweany won the Reno TOC High School tourney, now he’s looking for the same in the college division. IN his way stands Nathan Butler and Josh Marchok of Stanford.
