106: #1 Cade Olivas vs. #3 Gavin Teasdale

In a rematch of their high school debut at Who’s #1, Cade Olivas and Gavin Teasdale are primed to meet once again in the Super 32 final. The match between these two future stars in the Snake Pit was decided on a set of back points by Olivas in the second period.

This time, I don’t see that happening. Teasdale will stay off his back, but he won’t be able to fight off Olivas’ attacks. With a little background knowledge about each other both guys are certainly going to be bringing a bit more firepower. The edge still goes to Olivas in the end.

113: #1 Spencer Lee vs. #6 Danny Vega

“World Champs don’t get scored on!”

The better battle could be between Vega and the zero on his side of the scoreboard. Spencer Lee is a heat-seeking missile. This will probably be his toughest match, but it most likely won’t come between him and another belt.

120: #1 Nick Suriano vs. #2 Daton Fix

These guys met at Who’s No. 1 and in the FILA Cadet finals, now they are on a collision course for each other again in the S32 finals.

In two matches they have wrestled for 36 minutes and there has only been one takedown, but who’s counting? If they have anything left after their epic record-breaking battle at WNO, then this one is going to be well worth the price of admission (again).

There were countless situations where Fix was in deep on shots at WNO but couldn’t finish. I’m not sure he will be caught in the same situation again. Suriano is a hammer with the ability to become Houdini and fight off a takedown, but there are plenty of factors that will be different.

There’s no ultimate overtime and of course they will be wearing singlets. In my opinion, all both things play in favor of Fix. We all know that Suriano is No. 1 because “that’s just what (he) does,” but after this one I think there could be someone else sitting atop the rankings.

126: #3 (132) Mitch McKee, #2 Nick Piccininni, #3 Luke Pletcher

At 126, there’s three ways to keep us watching.

First is the possibility of a rematch between Luke Pletcher and Nick Piccininni. In last year’s FloNational final, Piccininni was as dominant as ever. He took Pletcher down, he turned him, he rode him out (2 minutes of riding time) and he won the scrambles; you name it, he was just better. Pletcher will definitely close the gap if they meet again. It won’t be 10-2, but Nicky Pich still has the edge.

Scenario No. 2 is that we could get a Piccininni, McKee match up for the first time. McKee, who is ranked third at 132, owns a pretty incredible come from behind win over Kaid Brock, thanks to a trap arm gut wrench, at Fargo. And we all just got a glimpse into the futur OK. State wrestling room with Brock’s win over Piccininni at WNO and with that I think McKee has the advantage here. It may not be freestyle, but I think McKee’s finishing kick could be too much for Picc to handle.

Finally, there could be another rematch for Pletcher. He claimed at 7-2 win over McKee in round four of last year’s S32, but I think that McKee has closed the gap and will get the win this time around. Advantage McKee.

182: #1 Zahid Valencia vs. #3 Dylan Wisman

Valencia is riding high off of his overtime win over Myles Martin at WNO and Dylan Wisman is the perfect guy to bring him back down.

Zahid has great defense and keeps guys in front of him very well. However, Wisman might be able to wear on Valencia and eventually edge him out late in the match. If he can keep the heavy pressure it will be his match to win.

But if not, it will be like a bolder rolling down a hill with Valencia playing the part as the bolder.
