Three Things To Know About Kayla Miracle vs Adaugo Nwachukwu At Final X

Kayla Miracle and Adaugo Nwachukwu are set to collide in a 62kg match at the Prudential Center in Newark on Saturday, June 14. The two have their sights set on a single spot on the 2025 U.S. Senior World women's freestyle team.

The final step of the USA Wrestling World Team Trials process is just days away. Final X 2025 has a packed schedule of the best freestyle wrestlers in the country as they go head-to-head to represent the United States at the 2025 Worlds in Croatia.

The bout will bring the two together in a rematch of the 2025 U.S. Open final less than two months ago where Miracle came out on top after leaving Nwachukwu and the rest of her opponents scoreless.

Nwachukwu, relatively new to the senior level of competition, has improved significantly since their first match in 2022.

Here's what to know before the two wrestle at Final X:

Kayla Miracle's Final Push

After a dominating win at the 2025 U.S. Open, 29-year old Kayla Miracle looks more than ready to reclaim her spot on the U.S. Senior World team for the fifth time since 2019, despite considering retirement and taking a break after the 2024 Olympics.

Her long resume includes trips to the Tokyo and Paris Olympics. Her five trips to Senior World Championships resulted in silver medals in 2021 and 2022. She earned silver in 2019 at the U23 Senior World Championships.

Earlier in her career, Miracle wrestled at Campbellsville where she earned WCWA Nationals champion titles between 2015 and 2018.

Adaugo Nwachukwu Can Put On A Show

Nwachukwu, 22, is known for drawing attention to whatever mat she touches thanks to her spectacular moves and high amplitude throws.

As the three-time NAIA champion for Iowa Wesleyan, 2025 U23 National champion, and 2025 Zagreb Open champion, Nwachukwu is no stranger to success on the international wrestling stage.

In order to set up the rematch, she earned two technical falls and a fall within eighty seconds against Savannah Cosme at the Senior World Team Trials challenge tournament finals.

A U.S. Open Rematch To Earn The Stars And Stripes

Kayla Miracle currently leads the match series 4-0, going all the way back to the 2022 U.S. Open in the semifinals. That resulted in a 10-0 blowout.

Each match since, the score gap has moved closer to Nwachukwu's favor, closing down to a close 4-0 win for Miracle at the U.S. Open final earlier this year.

This will be their third time facing off at Final X, could this be Nwachukwu's time to take over Miracle's spot?
