Updated And Expanded-New Freestyle P4P Rankings

I just couldn't resist.  20 was cool, but 25 just feels right.  Last time around it was just after World Team Trials when this list came out.  Since then we've had University wrestle offs, University Worlds, a few international tournaments as well as the Phase II World Team Trials in Fargo.  So yeah, quite a bit of movement. If you don't feel like looking back at the last set of rankings the previous ranking is in parentheses.  1. Jordan Burroughs (1)-Should baby Beacon become an honorary P4P wrestler? Stay tuned ...

Flowrestler Of The Week - Isaiah White

I can’t lie, how can you know really which way to go for Flowrestler of the Week after all the performances we just had?  My jaw hit the floor at least once a round without fail just watching how great these young guys are. I wanted to find someone who not only won impressively, but did so against elite competition. Enter Isaiah White. White dominated a field that contained Fredy Stroker, Mike Kemerer, Grant Leeth, Mark Voss, Vincenzo Joseph and more. Nobody was close. White’s dominant performance at Fargo left a huge impressi...

Phase II World Team Trials

The World Team is set.  Both winners needed only 2 matches to dispatch their opponents to punch their tickets on the World Team.  Jimmy Kennedy won 5-2 and 10-0 over Coleman Scott.  Meanwhile Nick Marable won 2-1 and 8-2 over James Green. Finals In match 1 Coleman Scott came out like a ball of fire early striking with a pair of pushouts. Kennedy responded late in the first period to make the score 2-1 Scott. After the break Coleman Scott showed off a number of amazing counters but ultimately it was Kennedy delivering on a beautif...

Phase II World Team Trials Preview

Bonus Bracket Breakdown: Now that the brackets are out (and man are they juicy), I’m going to go through the challenge tournament and give you the match by match winners with a few interesting tidbits. 70KG Round 1: Dustin Schlatter v. Adam Hall-I like Dustin here, but can anyone really say what we’re getting with DS who I don’t believe has competed since the 2012 Olympic Trials? Jason Welch v. Chase Pami-I like Welch here, but he’ll give up some points along the way. Jason Tsirtsis v. Frank Molinaro-I don’t think ...

What a week of wrestling! We brought home some serious hardware from Cadet Worlds as well as settling a few Women’s World Team spots. However, the talk of the entire weekend was the performance of Spencer Lee. The Franklin Regional Sophomore ran through the bracket at Cadet Worlds like he had someplace else to be. Spencer was unscored upon in the tournament winning 10-0, 12-0, 10-0 (fall) and 11-0 in the finals over Afgan Khashalov. It was really something to watch.
