JR High Big Board Notes Willie Saylor, Editor JH Big Board Welcome to the Junior High Big Board. In preparation for Super 32 MS and the Tulsa Kick Off Classic, the board is revamped. The incoming Freshmen are moved out. And what a great group they were. It will be fun to see them compete on the high school level soon. Of the Top 25, 17 are returners from last year. Colorado’s tremendously consistent and productive group claims three of the top four spots. Robison gets top billing. He won Tulsa, went undefeated at Schoolboy Duals, and was...

Lehigh is making sure the biggest stud in their backyard isn’t going anywhere. Jordan Wood, who comes in at #5 on the Flo Junior Big Board has verbally committed to be a Mountain Hawk. Wood, who was 2nd at the Cadet World Championships this Summer projects as a heavyweight at the next level.  The 2013 Super 32 Champion is a 2 time PA State runner up for Boyertown High School.   Jordan had this to say about the decision to wrestle at Lehigh: "I chose Lehigh because everything seems perfect there, the staff and the wrestlers are a...

Suriano-Fix Will Decide WNO at 120

Let's try this again. In the finals of FILA Cadets last May, we got a dream match-up between two of America's truly great underclassmen. For four minutes Daton Fix (Sand Springs, OK), trying to find angles and Nick Suriano (Bergen Catholic, NJ) with his typical physicality, couldn't score on each other. When the clock hit triple zeros, Fix walked away with a 1-1 criteria win with both points coming on shot clock violations. The win gave Fix both the #1 spot in the rankings and a trip to Cadet Worlds. He'd later drop a match to Skyler Petry, all...

Cowboys Land Top Prospect Piccininni

"34 And Counting". That's the name of the Oklahoma State message board referencing the Cowboys NCAA record for national titles, and their plan to keep accumulating them. With the recent bumper crop of in-state talent (Oklahoma has nine on the Senior Big Board) and ability to also nab out of state blue chippers, "And Counting" seems more than wishful thinking. The Cowboys already have commitments from #7-Kaid Brock (125/133), #9-Jo Jo Smith (149/157), #39-Boo Lewallen (141), #57-Lincoln Olson (133/141), and #93-Tristan Moran (141/149). On Monday...

Wrestler of the Week: Arajau Leads Strong NY Showing

New Yorkers rule the roost this week. With the Iron Horse Invitation unofficially kicking off the high school Preseason, Empire Staters made their presence felt in South Plainfield, New Jersey. State Champion and FloNationals Finalist, Vitali Arajau (Syosset, NY) beat last year's Super 32 Runner-Up, Gage Curry and then PA State Champion, Luke Karam, to claim the IHI title. For his monster outing, we've named him FloWrestler of the Week. New York won 9 of the 26 brackets including many of the deepest and most intriguing ones. Here were our other...

Harvey Twister Kris Williams Verbals To Illini

With three straight Top 7 recruiting classes, Illinois has been on a hot streak. And it looks like it will continue. The Illini already wrangled FloNationals Champ #22-Xavier Montalvo (174) and Folk Nationals Champ #64-Carver James (157/165). Late Sunday night, they received a third piece in what looks to be another stellar haul. The #31 overall recruit, Kris Williams of Thornton, IL is the newest member of the Illini. Perhaps one of the most underrated prospects in the country, Williams has won three state titles during a span when Illinois' ...
