#1 Brayton Lee Signs With Minnesota
Top-ranked Brayton Lee has made his college commitment.
Brayton Lee loomed large as one of the final athletes to make his college commitment. On Monday, the nation's top-ranked 152-pounder signed his National Letter of Intent with the Minnesota Gophers.
Lee cements a very strong recruiting class for UM coach Brandon Eggum and his staff. Joining Lee in Minneapolis are consensus No. 1 recruit Gable Steveson, Fargo champion Patrick McKee (No. 2 at 120), Super 32 champ Ryan Thomas (No. 6 at 160), and fellow Indiana native Kasper McIntosh (No. 8 at 145). A new 2018 Big Board is dropping Wednesday, but currently the Gophers have four top 100 recruits.
A two-time state champ from Brownsburg, IN, Lee projects as either a 149 or 157 in college. We have him rated as the No. 2 prospect at 157 pounds. The last time we saw him in action was at Who's #1 in October, which you can watch below.
Although he has never won a major national tournament, Lee has a long list of marquee wins. They include victories over Will Lewan, Sammy Sasso, Griffin Parriott, Alex Lloyd, Bock Mauller, Brock Hardy, and Justin McCoy. Lee has placed third at Fargo twice and has also finished third at Akron and Super 32.
