Sammy Sasso Commits!
Sammy Sasso, the No. 1 prospect at 149lbs in the Class of 2018, has verbally committed to wrestle for The Ohio State University Buckeyes.
Sammy Sasso has verbally committed to wrestle for Ohio State. The nation's top-ranked 145-pounder announced his decision on social media today. [tweet url="https://twitter.com/sammysasso/status/922149060034859008" hide_media="0" hide_thread="1"] After going undefeated and winning his first Pennsylvania state title in March, Sasso went on to take his second straight FloNationals belt. The rising senior out of Nazareth High School also bonused his way through both Super 32 and Ironman last year.
Sasso is regarded as the highest-rated 149lb prospect in the country and is No. 12 on the Class of 2018 Big Board. He fills a huge need for the Buckeyes at that weight, as Joey McKenna will have graduated by the time Sasso comes off redshirt, allowing Ke-Shawn Hayes to stay down at 141 for his senior and not forcing Jordan Decatur into the lineup as a true freshman.

Sasso has wrestled at the past two Who's #1 events, and you can watch him pick up the pin over Anthony Artalona in the video above. Along with three career wins over Artalona, Sasso has also earned victories against Kanen Storr, Mitchell McKee, Will Lewan, Josiah Rider, Justin McCoy, and Carter Starocci.
Ohio State coach Tom Ryan and his staff have now picked up commitments from five of the top 60 recruits on the senior Big Board, which includes No. 7 Gavin Hoffman, No. 22 Jaden Mattox, No. 40 Malik Heinselman, and No. 52 Rocky Jordan.
