Who's #1 Appearances Run In The Family

Making Who's #1 appearances has become a family affair for quite a few sets of brothers over the years.

On Sunday, Patrick McKee (120) and Trent Hidlay (170) will enter the Snakepit in Bethlehem, PA, and become the second person in their families to compete at the annual dual. But these guys aren't the only sets of brothers to reach the Who's #1 stage.

Here are the four brotherly duos we've seen lay it on the line for the top spot.

Bobby & Gable Steveson
[Record: 2-0]
In 2014, Bobby defeated Hunter Ritter 5-1 to hang on to his to No. 1 ranking at 195. A year later, Gable, who has since become the top dog at heavyweight, took out Jordan Wood for the second time, 5-4, to remain atop the 220-pound class.

Anthony & Zahid Valencia
[Record: 1-1]
In 2014, these guys were in some of the biggest matches in WNO history. Anthony came into his Who's #1 appearance ranked No. 1 and took on NCAA and two-time junior world champ Mark Hall. Before the match there was a ton of hype because Anthony had defeated Hall the last time they met. Hall went on to dominate the match and get the major decision to take over the No. 1 spot.

Zahid was a different story. He had just made one of the biggest weight jumps going from 132 to 182 to take on Myles Martin, who held the No. 1 ranking at the time. This one may have been short on points, but it was not short on action as they went to overtime with Zahid getting the 3-1 win, making him the No. 1-ranked guy at 182.

Mitch & Patrick McKee
[Record: 0-1]
Patrick is set to make his WNO appearance against top-ranked Robert Howard this weekend. If he wins, he will take the top spot and notch the first McKee win in the Snakepit.

Mitch, who has since become an NCAA qualifier and junior world silver medalist, took on AC Headlee in 2014 and came out on the short end of a shirtless battle with the now UNC Tarheel.

Hayden & Trent Hidlay
[Record: 0-1]
Like his brother Hayden, Trent is coming in as the No. 1-ranked guy at the weight. But, he's in the same boat as Patrick McKee, searching for the first WNO win for Team Hidlay.

Hayden had notched a few wins over current Greco world team member Mason Manville before they met in the Snakepit in 2015. But when the top ranking was on the line, Manville got the job done in overtime by collecting the halo-busting takedown to take the top spot.

Trent will wrestle Blair's Julian Ramirez at 170. The match was a late add to the card that will certainly add some fireworks.
