Virginia Tech is set to host 12 top 15 ranked wrestlers this weekend.

Virginia Tech Set To Host Unreal Recruiting Weekend

This Saturday the college football world will have its eyes on Blacksburg, Virginia, as No. 12 Virginia Tech welcomes second-ranked and defending national champion Clemson to Lane Stadium. In fact, ESPN's College Gameday will be in town for the ACC showdown.

However, the college wrestling world should be paying close attention as well. Hokies coach Tony Robie and company are set to host a recruiting weekend like we have never seen before.

In total, Virginia Tech will host five seniors taking their official visits and seven juniors taking unofficial visits. All of whom are ranked in the top 11 of their weights.

For those keeping track at home that's 18 state championships, five Fargo titles, and two world titles thanks to Kurt McHenry.

After the departure of former VT head coach Kevin Dresser and promotion of Robie, the Hokies made a huge splash by hiring former Olympians Frank Molinaro and Jared Frayer. Landing a couple of these blue-chippers would leave the Virginia Tech program in good hands for years to come.

The Hokies have finished in the top 10 at the NCAA tournament five straight years and had at least two All-Americans every season since 2012. Virginia Tech begins the year ranked eighth in the preseason poll with three returning All-Americans.
