Iowa opens up their Big Ten schedule this year by hosting Illinois on December 1st, and then travel to Rutgers and Maryland for two more conference duals before Midlands.

The Hawkeyes have a solid month of brutal dual after brutal dual, starting on January 12th when they host Oklahoma State. They follow that up by heading to Columbus to wrestle Ohio State, and then hosting Michigan, Minnesota and Northwestern back-to-back-to-back. Then, Tom Brands and company will head down to Happy Valley for their final conference dual of the season.

A little twist in the schedule is that the Hawks close out their dual season against Iowa State, a rivalry match that typically happens earlier in the year. It will be the first time we see new Iowa State coach Kevin Dresser take on his alma mater.

Some questions for the team entering this season include whether or not stud freshman Spencer Lee and Jacob Warner will start right away, how Alex Marinelli looks in his second season, and if Sam Stoll can remain healthy through NCAAs. It is no easy task to replace four graduated All Americans, but Iowa still returns NCAA third placers in Michael Kemerer and Brandon Sorensen.
