#2 Joey Silva Commits To Michigan
No. 2 Joey Silva commits to Michigan.
Florida's top lightweight will be moving up north for college. Joey Silva has given a verbal commitment to the University of Michigan, continuing a long tradition of Floridians who wrestled for the Wolverines.

He is currently ranked second in the country at 132 pounds, and is No. 9 overall on the class of 2018 big board. The rising senior finished 52-1 this year for Lake Highland Prep, with his only loss coming to junior world champ Spencer Lee in the Ironman finals. Silva projects as a 133 or 141 for the Wolverines.
Silva will join Ben Freeman, who is an incoming freshman for Michigan, as future anchors at the start of the lineup. The two will likely be close in weight, with Stevan Micic in the mix as well since he still has three years of eligibility left.
The Florida native is the first wrestler from the Top-100 this year to commit to head coach Joe McFarland and staff. While fans have to wait a year to see Silva in the maize and blue, they could possibly see him in action next at Who's #1 in October.
