Illinois standout Real Woods has verbally committed to wrestle for Stanford, he told Jared Chester of KRQE in Albuquerque. Woods is currently ranked 25th on the class of 2018 big board.



This year, Woods won his second Illinois state title and was 40-2 for Montini Catholic. A rising senior, he is No. 3 right now at 132 pounds. Woods is coached by Israel Martinez and projects as a 125 or 133 for the Cardinal.

Originally from New Mexico, Woods was on the Cadet world team last year for Greco-Roman. He also placed 4th in Akron last April for freestyle.

So far in his high school career, Woods has won three Cheesehead titles, a preseason Nationals title, and placed three times at Ironman. Watch him ride out Drew Mattin in the third period for his Ironman title in 2014.
