Rutgers Releases 2017-18 Home Schedule
Rutgers released their 2017-18 home schedule, which features six duals against Iowa, Ohio State, North Carolina, Hofstra, Penn State and Minnesota.
It's about that time of year where teams start releasing their home schedules. Rutgers' home slate for next year is absolutely brutal, with six very tough home dates coming to the Louis Brown Athletic Center, or the RAC.
JAN. 7 OHIO STATE
JAN. 12 NORTH CAROLINA
JAN. 19 HOFSTRA
JAN. 28 PENN STATE
FEB. 9 MINNESOTA
The Scarlet Knights start off their home duals against the Iowa Hawkeyes on December 8th. Back on January 2, 2015, Iowa beat Rutgers 27-9 in the first ever Big Ten dual for the New Jersey school. The Hawkeyes came in No. 8 in our returning points series and will be a stout first test for Rutgers.
A month later, Big Ten tournament champs Ohio State come to Piscataway. In last season's dual, the Scarlet Knights trailed by just one point entering the final match of the night.
Two straight non-conference Friday night matches follow, against North Carolina and Hofstra. UNC boasts the nation's #10 recruiting class, so the Jersey crowd will likely get to see some young ACC talent.
Rutgers will end their four January home duals against defending NCAA champs Penn State, who bring back half of the national champions to the RAC. They close out their home schedule against Minnesota, who rank seventh in returning points.
Head coach Scott Goodale led the Scarlet Knights to a perfect 6-0 home record last year as part of their 12-5 season overall. The team finished 14th overall in our dual rankings to close out the year, and could prove to be a Top-10 team in 2017-18 with even a .500 home record.
