Zain Retherford just continues to make adjustments and get better.

At the U.S. Open, he was called for his repeated hands to the face, but just a month later, he had already broken the habit. He also turned up the heat on his opponents to another level as he cleared the field with ease at the World Team Trials this past weekend in Lincoln, NE. After giving up a takedown to Jaydin Eierman in his first match, Retherford went unscored on to set up a meeting with his former training partner Frank Molinaro in the finals.

Ultimately, Retherford came out on top, claiming the final two matches of their best-of-three series after dropping the first to Molinaro to make the senior world team for the first time in his career.
