Brian Kennerly Issues Public Apology To Mason Parris
While at NHSCA National duals, FloNational finalists Brian Kennerly and Mason Parris met in a rematch that became very heated as Parris drove Kennerly out of bounds. Kennerly responded with a punch before having to be held back by his coaches as he pointed and yelled at Parris.

Today, Kennerly would like to make a public apology to Parris for how he acted (below).

It is important that I publicly apologize to Mason Parris and his family. In a sport where blood naturally runs high, I lost my cool and made a mistake. When you work hard to be the very best and run into a competitor as fierce and talented as Mason, it is very frustrating. In the moment of defeat, I reacted in a way that I am not proud of. My actions were unacceptable, and do not represent the person that I truly am. Therefore, I would like to apologize to Mason, his team, Flowrestling, and my brotherhood and sisterhood of wrestlers.

Our sport has a long and proud history of sportsmanship and class. I cannot take back a bad decision but can only learn from it and try to make peace with those affected. I assure everyone in our proud wrestling family that I will continue to work to be the best and will make sure to carry myself with the dignity that our sport deserves.

Mason, you are one of the best competitors I have faced which inspires me to work harder. I hope you can forgive me so we can continue a friendly rivalry moving forward.

Sincerely,

Brian Kennerly
