Kevin Vough had signed on to be a member of Boise State's recruiting class of 2017 but had to make other plans when the school abruptly announced it was cutting its wrestling program. Fortunately, Vough did not have to wait long to find a new home and now plans to wrestle for South Dakota State and head coach Chris Bono next season.

Bono reached out to the No. 63-ranked wrestler on the class of 2017 High School Big Board soon after hearing the news about BSU's program. Vough is Bono's second top 100 commit for the year, joining No. 73-ranked 125-pounder Connor Brown.

A native of Elyria, Ohio, Vough appears intent on heading west, first to Idaho and now to the Great Plans of South Dakota. Vough could potentially start right away for the Jackrabbits at 285 or take a redshirt and allow senior Alex Macki to man the spot for another year.

Vough currently sits as the ninth-ranked high school 285-pounder, having won both the Akron and Ironman tournaments in the past to establish himself as a dominant force on the national level.

You can watch Vough beat Alex LaGrippo in December 2016 to make the finals of the always tough Beat of the East Tournament in the video below:
