Kyle Snyder And Mark Hall Debate Routines And Superstitions.
There's a lot of bad things on social media. Trolls, vitriol and political arguments often gum up our feeds and make us ask "why bother?" Today, wrestling fans got a pay off of sorts on twitter, getting to read not just the opinions and insights from two greats (Kyle Snyder and Mark Hall) but also observe something that resembled a debate about pre-match rituals.
Kyle Snyder opened with his thoughts on superstitions and routines.
Superstitions do not help. Routines do not help. Being better at wrestling helps

Mark Hall has a pre-match ritual. This ritual is similar (maybe identical) to Frank Molinaro's. Vincenzo Joseph also does something similar. You can watch Mark's below.
This prompted a back and forth between NCAA Champions Hall and Snyder.
the brain loves repition and rhythm, if you don't think having a routine helps satisfy your brain then you're wild. https://t.co/1zd6ZZB7da

the better wrestler in that match will win. A routine has no affect on your wrestling. There are better things to focus on

would you be able to compete the same way without your routine and/or superstitions?
— Kyle Snyder (@Snyder_man45) March 26, 2017
I'm talking about pre match rituals people believe they have to do in order to compete at a high level
— Kyle Snyder (@Snyder_man45) March 26, 2017
that is 100% different than a routine
— wRECk Hall (@BaybeeMarky_PSU) March 26, 2017
routines go all the way back to weeks/months before competing
— wRECk Hall (@BaybeeMarky_PSU) March 26, 2017
why do you touch your fingers together and then cross your hands on your knees?

haha I know the reason why. Just interested to hear what reason you would give
— Kyle Snyder (@Snyder_man45) March 26, 2017
i think the face i wont say it publicly should give you a pretty good idea.
— wRECk Hall (@BaybeeMarky_PSU) March 26, 2017
I have no idea what that means. I know why you do it though
— Kyle Snyder (@Snyder_man45) March 26, 2017
Olympian and pre-match routine aficionado Frank Molinaro channeled his inner-Michael Scott to cap off the convo.
@BaybeeMarky_p what about if I'm not superstitious but just a little stitious? #micahelscott

Regardless of the how and why, there's no denying that all involved in this discussion are finding ways to train and prepare in ways that enable them for success. The how and why are what make the conversation even more interesting.
